The Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights (NMCIR), is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 to educate, defend and protect the rights of immigrants. Recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals, NMCIR is committed to expanding access to legal immigration services, participating in policy making and community organizing.

Most of the individuals who walk through our doors are low-income, non-citizen immigrants from the Caribbean, Latin America, and increasingly, Africa and the Middle East. Some have lived in the U.S. for decades, others are recent immigrants. NMCIR is often their first entrée into accessing legal aid or basic social services.

NMCIR Defends, Educates, and Protects the immigrant community with the following issues:

Family Reunification

Citizenship

Family Based Petitions

Deportation

Civic/ESL

Worker Center Services

While providing Direct Services to walk-in participants from Monday – Friday.

La Coalicion del Alto Manhattan para los Derechos del Inmigrante (NMCIR), es una organizacion sin fines de lucros, fundada en 1982, para defender, educar y proteger los derechos de los imigrantes. Reconicida por la Junta de Apelaciones de Inmigración, NMCIR esta comprometida a a expandir el acceso a una inmigracion legal, formando politicas y organizando la comunidad.

La majoria de los que pasan por la puerta de NMCIR son personas de baja renta, inmigrantes que no son ciudadanos del Caribe, America Latina y, mas alla, Africa y  Orient Medio. Unos han vivido en Estado Unidos por decadas, otros se mudaron para aqui recientemente. NMCIR en muy seguido sus primeros pasos a una ayuda legal o servicios sociales basicos.
